Schools & daycare

Helsingby school is a small and pleasant school environment, where your child can have a good and safe upbringing. Across the river in Toby are Tuovilan koulu and Tuovilan Päiväkoti, offering the same in Finnish. There are plans to bring the schools together in shared buildings in the future, creating a bilingual environment that strengthens children’s opportunity to learn the other language.

Connections

Car

With the motorway nearby, it takes only about 10 minutes to drive to central Vaasa. The ring road via Veikars and Kvevlax also takes you quickly north.

Train

If you are travelling south by train, Tervajoki railway station is more convenient than Vaasa. With free parking right by the tracks, you can get there in 15 minutes.

Things to do

Toby swimming beach (the pit)

A popular place in summer for all ages. There are also two beach volleyball courts, and during the summer IF Hoppet arranges beach volleyball for anyone interested every Tuesday at 7 pm.

Sports field and outdoor gym

There is an outdoor gym by the Helsingby sports field. IF Hoppet plays in Division 4 on the field, and rounders and football for all ages are organised on Thursdays.
